Who I Am?

An Aspiring Director.

Hi! My name is Joshua Li, I am currently an A student taking media class in Singapore School Manila. The reason why I was inspired to take media class is due to my fascination of the film industry and wanted to learn more about it.

Ever since I was a kid, I would watch movies & TV shows day till night. My favourite movie would have to be "La La Land" as the film combines both my love for music and film. Growing up, I never really had an idea or understood what went behind movie production and the hardship of directing a film. My family never had any background on the entertainment or film industry. That's why when I was presented an opportunity to start expanding my knowledge on media & films, I never hesitated to join.

I was luckily able to direct, shoot & edit my very first short film "Prelude" along with my teammates in Luna Films. This experience was eye opening as I got to feel like a director. Now, I have a whole new perspective & level of respect for film makers around the world, and the film industry in general. My next goal is to tackle the genre of Horror, it intrigues me. I find it  challenging to meet the conventions of horror fanatics, thus why I want to experience it for myself. With the creation of "Captum" I hope to truly experience the difference of directing a Drama to a Horror and meet the audiences' conventions or even break them.
